Emma Josephine Chambers, age 81, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 in a local hospital. She was born October 3, 1928 in Chattanooga to the late Jesse H. & Susie Fowler Cline. Mrs. Chambers was a former minister at Faith Chapel Holiness Church of God and was retired from Roxbury Carpets after 15 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ronnie Cline, Jim Cline, Henry Cline, Peggy Floyd, Janelle Lukitch, and Mary Goins.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Raymond D. Chambers; children, Wanda (Michael T.) Whitener of Chattanooga; Mary Sue Chambers and Virginia Jo Chambers of Ooltewah; sisters, Frances Baker of Chattanooga and Edith Peterson of Hixson; brothers, Nathan Cline of Rossville and Jesse Cline of East Ridge; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the North Chapel with Rev. Don Glenn officiating.
Interment will be Tuesday February 23, 2010 at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the North Chapel
Memorial contributions may be made to Siskin Hospital or Avalon Hospice.
