Elizabeth Gail Lancaster

Gail was born on January 30, 1945. She spent her entire life in Chattanooga and worked at the T. H. Payne Company for many years. She also served our Lord at Stuart Heights Baptist Church for over 60 years. She and George served together in choir, Sunday School, and many more ministries over the years. She especially loved the BALL club and actively planned trips for the group for many years. She also loved to send cards for most any occasion to friends, family, and many, many others. She loved her Ladies Sunday School class, and enjoyed eating with her special friends after church every Sunday. She also loved serving as a volunteer at Memorial North Park where she served for over 16 years. The last two years included being a member of the board.

Gail loved her family, and grandchildren, and extended family. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, and especially spoiling her grandchildren whenever she had the opportunity.

Gail was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, and father, Harold, her husband, George Lancaster, and granddaughter Ashley. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Paul Finnell.

Gail is survived by her two sons; George (Karen) Lancaster, Scott (Julia) Lancaster, grandson, Andrew Lancaster, granddaughter Bailey Lancaster, and grandson, Preston (Abby) Lark. Gail is also survived by Paula Lambert (daughter-in-law), grandson, Cy (Lauren) Lambert, and their son Dylan. She had countless friends that will also miss her regular text messages, calls, and cards.

As many of you know, Mom was not a fan of long obituaries, and this is probably too long to her liking. The family would like to thank the many friends who have supported Mom and the family through her illness.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gail’s name to the Stuart Heights BALL Club, Samaritan’s Purse, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Stuart Heights Baptist Church, Chattanooga Campus, 3208 Hixson Pike, with Rev. Gary Jared, and Rev. Darrell Davenport officiating. Interment follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time at the Chattanooga Campus of Stuart Heights Baptist Church.
