Cleo Futral Long, 86, of Signal Mountain, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17,2015
She was born in Alexander City, Alabama to parents Willie Vernon Tankersley Futral and William Leroy Futral.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Morgan Long, Sr. as well as her brother William Robert Futral.
Cleo is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Jon) Fullerton and Carole Long and son, John M. Long, Jr.
; her grandchildren , Aaron, Katherine and Scott Long and their mother, Lora Long . Her sister Nancy ( Hugh) Holley and Sara Patterson and sister-in-law Dawn Futral Waters; her special friends Michael, Diane, Noah and Zachary Huseman and Patricia Reeves; host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Cleo was an active member of Signal Crest United Methodist Church-Park’s Fellowship Class. She was active in the Community Guild, Signal Mountain Garden Club, Signal Mountain Library and a variety of bridge clubs. One of her proudest accomplishments was publishing a cookbook with her two sisters.
A private graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Signal Crest United Methodist Church with Pastor Dale Wyrick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Signal Crest United Methodist Church, 1005 Ridgeway Avenue, Signal Mountain, TN 37377.
