A lifelong resident of Chattanooga she was born on February 20, 1937 to the late
Henry and Arbutus Hixson. A graduate of Red Bank High School where she was awarded the honor of being named “Miss Red Bank”. A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she was acitve in the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was the owner of C. Riley’s North. She was an avid internatioal traveler, active member of a Ladies Book Club and was a longtime volunteer with the Tennessee Aquarium. She was featured in the Chattanooga Free Press as an outstanding Gourmet Cook. Her love for children was reflected in her philanthropical giving toward children’s welfare. She was of the Episcopalian Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald E. Riley.
Survived by daughter, Kelly Riley Lind(Charles William Jr.) of Chattanooga; son, Keith Riley (Audrianna) of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Charlotte Emmaline “Emme” Lind, Charles William Lind III, Shelby Riley and Sarah Riley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11 AM at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel with the Honorable Reverend Sam Payne officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home. Private interment will take place at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Bible Village, 3001 Hamill Road, Hixson, Tennessee 37343.
