He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and served in the United States Army. “Charlie” retired with 29 years of service at Mayfield Diary. He was a member of Middle Valley Church of God.
He was preceded in death by parents, Leola and Charles Phillips and sister, Florence Wofford.
“Charlie” is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sondra Womack Phillips; siblings, Philip (Melba) Phillips, Charlotte Wade and Sheila Kerr; several nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday and 10:30 to 11:30 am on Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Service for “Charlie” will follow at 11:30 am on Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mitch McClure and Judge Clarence Shattuck officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
