He was born in Chattanooga to the late Dillon Cecil Roberts Sr. and Jessie Roberts. Cecil was a proud veteran of the US Army. He was a businessman, owning of a Chevron full-service station and convenience store for many years.
Cecil was a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and was part of the Gate Keepers Sunday School Class.
Cecil was a man of many nicknames. He was an avid sports fan, but his passion was the Big Orange. His love for the outdoors was always evident, whether he was doing activities outside, watching his grandkids play sports or taking the scenic route on family trips in their wood paneled station wagon. He was also the proud owner of a mustard yellow 240Z (also known as the “Buzz Bomber”). Cecil faithfully served his family and took care of them, especially his wife, Shirley. He will be greatly missed.
His loving wife of 46 years, Shirley Roberts precedes him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Wes (Racheal) Roberts, and Zach (Ali) Roberts; 3 grandchildren, Sawyer, River, and Sutton Roberts and sister, Vivian (Gaylor) Cole.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A celebration of Cecil’s life will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the North Chapel with Pastor Ken Duggan officiating. Burial to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
