Barbara Ann Thrower Perkins, 87, of Chattanooga died Friday, June 16, 2023. She was born December 1, 1935 in Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Thrower, Sr. and her brother Joe Thrower, Jr.
She attended City and Kirkman High Schools. She was retired from Ankar’s Restaurant on Lee Highway. She never met a stranger and she remembered every family member’s birthday and would call to sing her version of “Happy Birthday”! She was active at the Lakeside PTA, was a past worthy matron at North Chattanooga Order of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Sunnyside Chapter #359 and a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #945 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children, Dewayne Perkins, Perry (Monica) Perkins, and Jeanelle (Jimmy) Vineyard; niece, Anna Jo Thrower McCloud; grandchildren, Wayne (April) Perkins, Jeremy (KK) Vineyard, and Jami (Peter) Hebert; great grandchildren, Gideon Perkins, Jonah Vineyard and Murphy Vineyard; stepchildren, Dawn Anderson, Heather Barker, Devan Chinderle and Danielle Faletti.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 Sunday, evening June 18, concluding with memorial honors by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Monday, June 19 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating, with funeral rites by the Sunnyside Order of the Eastern Star. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
