Beloved husband of Sandra. Loving father of Jennifer (Paul) Aaron, Andre' Monstur, Becky (Don) Hogaboom and Trish (Mark) Rice. Proud grandfather of Elizabeth Riggs, Samantha (Seth) Middleton, Abigail Riggs, Nehemiah Riggs, Jeremy Hogaboom, Donna Hogaboom, Evan Rice, Meghan Rice and Brandon Rice. Treasured great-grandfather of Boaz Middleton. He is also survived by his younger brother, Rick (Linda) Monstur.
Bob was born to Ray and Ruth (nee Slemmons) Monstur on November 10, 1942 in Highland Park, Michigan. He grew up in Redford and was part of the first graduating class at Redford Union High School. Later, he married and moved to Livonia where he lived for over 50 years. After 40 years of dedicated service as a plant manager, Bob retired from Clawson Concrete Company. Bob was an active member of Brightmoor Christian Church throughout his life where he served as an usher, sang in the choir, served as an Elder, helped lead a Men Of Brightmoor (MOB) Bible study group, folded bulletins, was a founding member of the Retired Old Men Eating Out (ROMEO) breakfast group, and performed many other important church duties. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping with his children and later was able to take a bucket list trip to Alaska in 2019. Bob loved to play games with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Brightmoor Christian Church, 40800 W. 13 Mile Road in Novi. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road in Highland and Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at 2:00pm at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
