Lonny James Hutchins, age 56, of West Bloomfield, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia "Cyn" Hutchins; his two sons: Cole Hutchins, and Logan (Caitlin Garrett) Hutchins; his loving parents, Michael and Cynthia Hutchins; his sister, Wendy Hutchins; his parents-in-law, Terry and Nancy Hawkes; his sisters-in-law: Julie (Jason) Darr, and Jill (Darrin) Loyer; his brothers-in-law: Joseph Hawkes, Russell Hawkes, and John Devitt; and his nephews: Avery and Alex Darr.
Lonny was born April 11, 1967, in Pontiac, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Cynthia (Hagemeister) Hutchins. From 1983 until 1990, Lonny proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his discharge, Lonny began his career as a CNC Machinist. He worked hard to perfect his craft for 39 years and the last 13 years at Mark Precision Tool and Engineering. In his free time, Lonny could always be found enjoying an episode of Judge Judy, cheering on the Detroit Lions, or watching a classic film on Turner Classic Movies. He greatly enjoyed working on many projects (anything that was broken), tinkering with and riding on his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle; which will stay in the family as it was cherished by him. Lonny was one who loved to socialize and always had a prank or two up his sleeve for family, friends and especially coworkers. He had a passion for dogs, especially his big baby Peanut, who preceded him in death a year prior. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family; he was so very proud of his sons. Lonny was a loving man who will be greatly missed.
Lonny was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Hutchins, and his brother, Michael Hutchins.
Lonny’s family will receive visitors on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. In accordance with Lonny’s wishes, cremation will follow.
