David Richard Ragatz, II, age 54, of Fenton, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Nancy; his two children: Shelby Ragatz, and David Richard Ragatz, III; his mother, Judi Ragatz; his two sisters: Wendy (Hank) Roehl, and Dee Dee (Mike) Welch; his best friend, Scott (Elizabeth) Eason; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
David was born February 12, 1967, in Pontiac, the son of Mr. & Mrs. David and Judi (House) Ragatz. When he met Nancy Strait on a blind date, it was love at first sight! They began dating, fell in love, and were married on February 27, 1993; sharing twenty-eight wonderful years together. Throughout his adult life, David was a carpenter; most recently working at Oscar W. Larson where he’s been a valued employee for nine years.
In his free time, David could often be found playing a round of golf, enjoying a NASCAR race, or going hunting and fishing. He held fond memories of the camping trips he took with his family all over the state of Michigan. Above all else, David took great pride in his children and their accomplishments. He loved to cheer on his son and the rest of the football team at Ferris State University, the alma mater of his two kids. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Richard Ragatz.
David's family will receive friends on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. In accordance with David's wishes, cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Michigan.
