Dick was one of my favorite cousins and we all loved the stories my Mom, Marie Broedel, would tell about taking care of him as a little boy.  He brought a lot of fun and joy to our family and he will be greatly missed.

I enjoyed working Dave at Home Depot in the Hardware Department. He was a great mentor and showed me how to rekey door locks for customers. I enjoyed his many stories especially, about playing hockey and coaching hockey. He always enjoyed talking and joking with children that came into the store. I have very fond memories of Dave.

Dave was our Neighbor, Friend, Mentor and above all , a great jokester! We will miss him immensely! I will miss his very upbeat funny attitude at coffee in the mornings or even chatting over the fence. I'll miss the many times he hid my lawn mower when I'd go in for a break, or I'd hide his weed whacker when he went in for his break. His antics with his entire family and friends will attest to that. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire Green Family....he will be truely missed in this neighborhood. We were blessed to be able to share the years we had with him as our Neighbor. 
God Bless you Dave.....(sure hope he keeps a cup of coffee warm for me when I get there).


To the Whole Green Family,  So Sorry for the loss of your Dad, So many memories from Pembroke, in Detroit growing up.  I am unable to attend the Memorial I will be out of town. Thinking of you all.

Dear Green Clan,
Dick Green was my very first baseball coach at St, Eugene's in Detroit. Funny, i was on the green team, seriously...the "green" team, and played with his sons Daryl, Dale and Doug.  My sister also played softball with Denise.  Summers playing baseball were great. His involvement in the program was an example for anyone.  The best thing of all for myself, along with a host of other kids/teenagers/men, grew up with his family on Pembroke. i don't really know what else to say. great man, great kids, great family. His love and enjoyment of family moves forward in all of you.

So very sad.  I'm so fortunate to have Gregory, Bridget, and Celeste in my family, as well as Larry and Aggie Green - my heart goes out to you all.

I will always remember Uncle Dick being as much fun as the kids at our Green Family reunions in Detroit.  My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this difficult time.  My mom, his cousin, Judy -- daughter of Marie Green, is out of the country right now travelling, but I know she would want to send her fond memories and prayers to all of the family.  Jill Scoby

Uncle Dick,

My Uncle was a man who had the best sense of humor. No matter what he did, he loved to make everyone laugh.  

Funny Stories, Jokes, Burns, Ribbings and Kiddings, from all angles, came at you in a barrage like machine gun fire.  You had to be on your guard at all times Slug Bug  [White VW on your left.]

[Excerpts from George Carlin] A real scream! AAAAUGH! I cracked up laughing! He broke me up, too. I busted a gut laughing! My friend was in stitches! He fractures me with his punch lines...and his GAGS! (makes gagging sound) Slapstick! Knee-slapping! Side-splitting! Rib-splitting! Gut-busting!...  

Laugh!! I lost my breath, I cried so hard, I wet my pants, etc He had that effect on everyone!

I remember that he always had time for a little girl with lots of questions. Getting to sit on his lap during short visits then running off to play with my cousins.  Condolences to his family.  Rest in peace, Uncle Richard.
