Sophia Stoynoff

Sophia Stoynoff, age 88, of Beecher, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024 at home with her loving family at her side. Sophia is the beloved wife of 68 years to Peter Stoynoff; loving mother to Lori (Craig) Bradley, Steven (Joanne) Stoynoff and Peter (Stephanie) Stoynoff; proud grandmother to Michael (Meredith) Davis, Jessica (Philip) Kokott, Connor Davis, Sean (Kayleigh) Bradley, Lucia Stoynoff and Wren Stoynoff; great-grandmother to Alice, George, Hannah and Julia; loving daughter to the late George and Mary Ratkovich; cherished sister to George Ratkovich, the late Michael Ratkovich, the late Joseph Ratkovich, the late Daniel Ratkovich, the late Steve Ratkovich, the late Peter Ratkovich, the late Robert Ratkovich, the late Mildred Zevkovich and the late Violet Varichak. Sophia was a talented cook who enjoyed creating delicious meals and spreading joy by making people feel loved and welcome. She and her loving husband enjoyed traveling especially their yearly Las Vegas trips since 1961. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of her funeral services at 11:00 am at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church (1500 186th St.; Lansing, IL 60438). She will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at 8178 Cline ave. Crown Point,IN 46307 at 1:00 pm
