Sonja S. Mears, 79, of Calumet Township passed away on November 24, 2020 after a brief illness.

Sonja was retired from the Hammond Clinic and she was a member of Church of Christ in Merrillville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Mears and great granddaughter Madison Duggins.

She is survived by her children: Jerry Duggins Jr, Alan Duggins and Diane (Steve) Wagner, step-children: William (Ashley) Mears, Lori (AJ) Toyias, Robert Mears and Kelly (Freda) Mears, Grandchildren: Jerry Duggins III, Jennifer (Steve) Smith, Joseph (Sean) Duggins, Alan Duggins Jr, Roy Duggins, Alex Wagner, and Anastasia Wagner. Sonja had 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kuiper Funeral Home.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be no services at this time.
