In Loving Memory of Richard F. Smith. Richard passed Thursday, November 21st, 2013 at his home in Hobart, IN. He was 63. Richard was born to parents J.B. and Ruth Smith in the town of Sewanee, TN. He later settled in Hammond, IN where he flourished as the owner and operator of East Side Auto. Rich is survived by his wife Teresa M. Smith; daughter Alicia A. (Richard) Jakubowicz; sisters: Shirley (Denis) Tokarz and Rosemary (Mike) Kotlowski; brother: Max Smith; as well as his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rich has touched the lives of more people in his short life than anyone could possibly imagine. He will be sorely missed by all. “If I had my life to do over again…I’d find you sooner so I could love you longer.” Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Shawn Gerbers, will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN. Cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
