NELSON A. CROOK CROWN POINT, IN Nelson A. Crook, age 75 of Crown Point, passed away February 27, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Betty; two children: Jeffrey L. (Shelly Reppa) Crook, Ronda G. (Chris) Manojlovich; one grandson, Scott M. Crook; two granddaughters: Kara and Kali Manojlovich; one brother, Melvin Crook of Portage; one sister, Ozella Hansen; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters: Norma and Alma; one brother, Elvis. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, IN with Rev. Robert Parnell officiating. Burial in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Nelson graduated from Hammond Tech in 1955. He married Betty Campbell in 1956. Nelson was the owner of Ronnel's Cabinet in East Chicago from 1968 to 1978. He was a real estate broker from 1978 to 1984, graduated from IUN Nursing School in 1988 at the age of 52, and worked at St. Margaret Mercy South Campus until he retired in 2000. He battled Alzheimer's disease for 11 years.
