Michael Marion Payonk Jr., age 67 born September 28,1950 in Hammond, IN passed away on Tuesday February 20,2018, survived by his wife of 47 years Mary Grace(nee Jackson) daughters Nicole (Michael) Holley of Highland, IN, Dr. Natalie (Jason) Sessions of South Bend, grandchildren Lola, Fiona, Drake, Christopher, one brother Jeff( Peggy) Payonk of Crown Point, IN, preceded in death by his parents Michael & Betty(nee Ward) Payonk Sr. Visitation will be held Friday February 23,2018 from 2 to 7 PM(with Elks Lodge #485 services at 5:00PM) at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd ( two blocks south of Ridge RD) Highland, IN. Cremation to follow. Michael graduated from Hammond Tech High School in 1968, also graduated from Washburn Trade School in Chicago, worked as a Sheet Metal Worker Chicago Local #73, he was a lifetime member of the Hammond Elks Lodge #485, was an avid woodworker, loved watching NCIS, The Price is Right, and Judge Marilyn Milian on The People's Court, enjoyed watching movies especially Star Wars and Star Trek. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Indiana Elk's Cancer Fund due to his courageous battle with cancer
