Mary Lou Kimmel

Mary Lou Kimmel, age 82, of Griffith, IN, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She is the loving wife of 64 years to Harold Kimmel; devoted mother to Randy (Rhonda) Kimmel and Lisa (Israel) Quinones; proud grandmother to Ryan Kimmel, Adrianna Kimmel and Kaylee Richardson; fond sister to Cheryl Smith; step-sister to Bernadette Bardell and William Cox; aunt to many. Mary Lou enjoyed Nascar and especially loved going to the Illiana Motor Speedway with her husband and joining their friends at the speedway. When her children were growing up, she was always the extended mother to many friends. She extended on her nurturing relationship to be a special grandmother to several. Mary Lou enjoyed being outdoors and tending to her flowers. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, February 2, 2024 at 12:00 noon. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given towards St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
