Jose C. Madrigal Sr.

Jose Cruz Madrigal, Sr., age 79, of Munster, IN -- Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Jose Cruz was a resident of East Chicago for many years before eventually moving to Munster. Jose Cruz was born on January 3, 1940, in Michoacan, Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Elisa Madrigal and shared 55 loving years of marriage together; 4 Children: Jose C. Madrigal, Jr., Marfelia Madrigal, Maria E. Madrigal Del Toro (Jesse Del Toro) and Armando Madrigal; 7 grandchildren: Jonathan and Megan Madrigal; Andrew and Amanda Garcia; Lilianna, Alexander and Jessenia Del Toro. Jose Cruz is also preceded in death by his parents from Mexico: Juan DelaCruz Madrigal and Elodia Madrigal, sister: Consuelo Madrigal, and brother Gabriel Madrigal Sr. of East Chicago. Jose Cruz enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and devoting his time to his family. He had a great passion for music which he often times joined in singing with every Mariachi Band at family gatherings. Jose was a hardworking man and retired from ArcelorMittal. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (prayer service 7:30 p.m.) at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN on Friday February 8, 2019. Mass will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. directly at St. Mary Catholic Church, 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith, IN, with Pastor: Rev. Theodore J. Mens.
