Gertrude Dykstra, age 95, of Lansing, Illinois passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020. Gertrude was born September 15, 1925 to the late Sam and Hilda (Post) Tolsma in Sibley, Iowa. She loved taking care of her family, she was a house keeper for 44 years, and she was a member of Bethel Church in Lansing, IL. She loved to keep a clean house and you always saw her with a wash rag in her hand. She loved Jesus very much and would always share the gospel. Her favorite passage was Psalms 24. She had a wonderful sense of humor and really got a kick out of her grandchildren. She lived very modestly and did not waste anything. She was a very generous person and donated to many Christian charities. She was a hard worker and took pleasure in the simple things in life. Her dying wish was for all of her children and grandchildren to love the Lord so that she can see them all again in heaven. She is survived by her children, Donna (Gerald) Bachert, Randall (Sue) Dykstra; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Bowdish, Johnathan (Julia) Shafer, Gretchen (Justin) Tomich, Matthew (Sheila) Bachert, Dana Bachert, Michelle (Nick) Mumbower, Stephanie (George) Beiderhake, Randy (Jessica) Dykstra, Rebecca (Eric) Panazzo; 16 great grandchildren, Tyler (Josi) Bowdish, Allison (Josh) Nottingham, Sarah Tomich, Ella Tomich, Alana Bachert, Sydney Bachert, Emilie Mumbower, Natalie Mumbower, Phoebe (Adam) Oyler, George Beiderhake, Noah Dykstra, Maddie Dykstra, Rylee Panazzo, Caden Panazzo, Delaney Panazzo, Taylor Panazzo; two great-great-grandchildren, Hazel Bowdish, Corinne Nottingham; and her sister, Mary Koldenhoven.
