Known for his big heart and infectious sense of humor, David was always the life of the party, making people laugh with his jokes and light-hearted nature. He was a happy-go-lucky individual who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including his love for *The Andy Griffith Show*.
David retired from Inland Steel after many dedicated years of service. He spent the majority of his life in Lansing, Illinois, before moving to Highland three years ago.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Johnson, his mother Ruth Johnson, father Ernest Johnson, sisters Marcella Turpin, Joyce Kendall, Linda Barber, and his brother Robert Johnson.
David is survived by his brother Richard Johnson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss his warmth and wit.

A funeral service honoring David will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. Highland, IN 46322. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
David will be remembered for the love he shared, his unforgettable personality, and the joy he brought to those around him.
