Carl E. Stovall

Carl was born on May 18, 1948 in Tennessee. He was united in marriage to Shelby Lynn on April 8, 1974.

He is preceded in death by their son, Steven Stovall; their granddaughter, Sarah Stovall; his mother, Jessie Stovall; his father, Richard Stovall; and his siblings, Richard and Joan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shelby Stovall; his children, Chip (Diane) Stovall, Bill (Donna) Stovall, Tim Stovall, August (Amy) Stovall, and Stacey (Greg) Xander; grandchildren, Jamie (Bryan) Chap, Kyle Stovall, Nick Stovall, Jeremy Stovall, Erin (Greg) Zannetti, Brendan Stovall, Jacob Stovall, Shannon Stovall, Lauren Xander, Riley Stovall, and Caden Xander; great-grandchildren, Khloe, Jaxon, Charlotte, Cameron, and Chase; his sister, Barb; and many nieces and nephews.

Carl was a pipefitter for Local 597 for 56 years. He loved baseball, both coaching and umpiring for his kids. His favorite team, and in his eyes the only baseball team worth watching, was the Chicago Cubs. He adored any time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Lansing Bible Church for nearly 45 years. The Game Show Channel and Wheel of Fortune were played daily. He loved Westerns, especially those with his favorite actor, John Wayne. He was also a huge fan of old-time pro wrestling.

A memorial visitation for Carl will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lansing Bible Church, located at 2200 183rd St, Lansing, IL 60438. Following the visitation, a private family memorial will take place at 1:00 pm. at Lansing Bible Church.
