W. Marshall Weavil, 86, made his transition on April 4, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness. Marshall was born in Forsyth County, September 1, 1928, a son of Roy Arnold Weavil and Madie Irene Swaim Weavil. He went to work at an early age to support his family at R.J. Reynolds. He was an extremely creative man who went on to work in the furniture industry in High Point as a production analyst for Lampart Table, Chatham County Furniture and other area furniture companies. Marshall was well loved and respected by his family and many friends. He loved to laugh and have fun. He was preceded in death by his son, Reggie Weavil. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Lois Wood Weavil; a daughter, Sherri Raeford and husband Steve; three grandchildren, Clint Bullock and wife Brittany, Nicholas Bullock and Derek Raeford; two sisters, Betty Jane Beck and Pansy Hine Aycoth. A Celebration of Marshall’s Life will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Martin Orman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 3:30 until the service. Special thanks to all of Marshall’s wonderful caregivers.
