She was preceded in death by her son, José Jané; and husband of 55 years, Isidro Jané who was her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life.
Together they lived in Spain, Cuba and Florida before settling in North Carolina. Mercedes was an accomplished seamstress and a long time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Bethany Society, Young at Heart Club and Comfort Weavers. She enjoyed many a Bingo night at the church.
Mamí was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and cooking many a Sunday dinner. Her family and friends will forever miss her smiles.
Mercedes leaves behind a daughter, Mary Wesley and her husband Loren, and their son, Jordan; a daughter Teresa Taylor and her husband Steve, and their son, Stephen; a son, Carlos Jané and his wife Ashley, and their children, Piper and Pace; three nieces and their families in Spain.
The services for Mercedes will be held privately.
