Madge Griffin Cook 88 passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Hospice Home in High Point. She was born in Guilford County to the late Joseph Luther Griffin and Mary Sechrest. Madge was a lifelong resident of Guilford County. She married the love of her life Carl Cook Jr. on February 16, 1946. She was a past member of Northwood Methodist Church, and a member of the Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church in High Point. Madge worked as a child nutritionist for the High Point Schools. She was a beloved wife, mother , and grandmother “Maw Maw” who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their special thank you to Madges caregiver Glenda Canada.
Madge is preceded in death by her son Jerry Wayne Cook, a sister, Louise Thompson and three brothers, Ervin, Joseph and William Griffin.
She is survived by her husband Carl of the home, a daughter Brenda Cook Mohl and husband Laverne of High Point, two sons, Ricky Cook and wife Sandra of High Point, Todd Cook and wife Barbara of Rock Hill, SC, three sisters, Betty Yow, Billie Roberson, Nancy Harris, one brother James F. Griffin, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 16, 2015, 1:00pm at Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church in High Point. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 11:30am to 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church, 2937 North Main St. High Point or The Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Dr. High Point.
