Mrs. Gray was born in Davidson County, March 8, 1921, a daughter of the late Floyd and Annie Meredith Maner. Juanita retired from Northwood Elementary School as the cafeteria manager. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Arthur Clark and Austin Gray; her son, Kenneth Clark and three brothers. Juanita was a long time member of the former Lexington Ave. Baptist Church and a current member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She made her home with her granddaughter, Julie Hamilton and her husband John and their two children, Lauren and Carli.
Surviving are two daughters, Lavenia Harper and husband Kim of Lexington and Sheila Petty and husband Tom of High Point; two sons, Ronald Clark of Atlanta, GA and Austin Gray, Jr. and wife Julia of Lexington; a sister, Annie Lois Tysinger of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Juanita’s Life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Tabernacle Baptist Church by Pastor Casey Bradford. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davis Funerals and Cremations Sunday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
