To Rich's Family and Friends,

I am saddened to learn of Rich's passing.  I worked alongside Rich at Unitor and Wilhelmsen.  He was a mentor before becoming a colleague and friend. 

I admired how Rich handled himself both personally and professionally.  He was immediately open and gracious to everyone he encountered.

Just heard about this today.  Rich was a great guy and a maritime colleague for many years.  Sad news!

May you have Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend.

I had the pleasure of learning to know Rich first in a professional capacity, at our mutual employer, Wilhelmsen in Pasadena, TX, which led to a friendship outside work.

An absolute gentleman, humble yet courageous.
Joyful, respectful and considerate. 
His faith was reflected in his actions, compassion and servant attitude.

May the LORD bless you, and keep thee; 
May the LORD make his face shine to upon you, and be gracious to you; 
May the LORD turn his countenance to you and grant you peace.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Rich’s passing. He and I worked together for many years, at Unitor / Wilhelmsen.  I always looked up to him for his calm demeanor and friendly persona. He was not just a coworker but also a friend, and I will miss him dearly.

I hope you can take comfort in knowing how many lives Rich touched and how much he meant to those around him. He had a way of making everyone feel valued, and his positivity and kindness will be sorely missed.

You were one of the first to hold our son outside of his grandparents. You always welcomed me into the family from day one! You made time for everyone, you made sure to keep in touch with everyone, and you made sure everyone felt loved!  I married into the family and you made me feel like it was Home from day one. I will always show our son the love you had for him and others! We prayed for you at mass and will always be looking up to you we love you to and miss you!

 Always smiling! Loved his nephews & nieces and their children this is how I’ll rememberer Rich. Rich  meeting his grand nephew Danny for the first time! After he retired, I missed his visits to Virginia Beach. 

May Richie be as happy in heaven as he made everyone who knew and loved him here on earth.  Deepest sympathy to Belinda and all family and friends.

Love and thoughts to Belinda and the Rogers family.  Rich was a great guy and will be missed by all.  I'll always think of him and his Jets.

I was so glad to be a part of his wedding to Belinda in June.  Many fond memories.

Rich was a warm, friendly, giving person. A dedicated KofC brother and avid supporter of St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Houston, TX. He was a friend and will be missed by all who knew him. RIP my brother.

To The Rogers Clan and selected in-laws,

Regrettably, I will not be able to express my condolences in person tomorrow.  Ironically, I will be in Dick's adopted home state attending 2 weddings on consecutive Saturdays in Austin and Dallas.  My fondest memories of Dick were Sunday afternoons at Ebbets when Kevin, Kerry and I would open the place up at noon.  Then about 3 o'clock, Dick would roll in with the Sunday Snooze under his arm and it was Jumble time.  My record is still 8 seconds.  Ask Kev, as he is the only other surviving witness.  Hard to believe no Kerry and Dick.  Didn't know him in St. Iggy's when he was still Richie Rogers, but knew OF him as he was always getting bumped up a grade to play ball with the guys in my grade.  Loved Dick and wish I could be there to share the love in person.  But know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sad to hear of Richie's passing. I will always remember him for his great, dry, sense of humor. Here is my favorite example of his comical side. He married Cathy on April 3, 1982, and they left Long Island for their honeymoon to the sandy beaches of Jamaica the following day. On Tuesday the 6th, a blizzard struck Long Island and the Northeast. On Wednesday, while Long Islanders  struggled to shovel out, Richie was posing for a picture , holding up the frontpage of the NY Daily News referencing the blizzard, while he was lounging in a beach chair, feet in the Caribbean, can of Miller Lite in his other hand. What a great sense of humor! God Bless you Richie, rest in peace.

Dick was my 1st and favorite roommate during the Wickboldt Cup events.  His gentle soul, quick wit, generosity, and easy-going manner is what I remember most.  I made friends with him immediately and I was blessed to enjoy his friendship for these past (far too short)  years.  My condolences to Belinda, Danny, and all the Rogers family.
