Janet DiGiacomo passed away on July 19th, 2024, peacefully at her home. Born on October 7, 1933, Janet was the daughter of Alfred and Frieda Braun. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph DiGiacomo, with whom she shared 64 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a legacy of love and devotion.
Janet was a loving mother to Eileen, Patrice (Andy), and the late Karen (Dennis). She was a cherished grandmother to Shauna, Kara, Deena, Robert, and Andrew, and an adored great-grandmother to Wesley and Will. Family was at the center of Janet's life, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being.
Throughout her life, Janet brought warmth and joy to everyone she knew. She was known for her culinary skills, delighting her family with delicious meals, and she and Joseph shared a passion for travel and socializing. Janet's caring nature extended beyond her family; she was a dear friend to many, always ready with a kind word and a smile.
Janet was a talented hairdresser, styling the hair of her loved ones with care and creativity. In her later years, she found joy in coloring, embracing creativity in different forms. Her family will fondly remember her saying grace at suppertime, patiently waiting for her to finish so they can enjoy her meal.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W. Old Country Road, Hicksville, New York 11801. A funeral service will take place at 8:00 pm during the visitation, lead by Deacon Jack McKenna. Janet will be laid to rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 10:45 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, New York.
Janet DiGiacomo's legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
