George A. Vetere, age 82, of Hicksville, New York passed peacefully in his sleep at home, as he had wished, on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He now joins his beloved late wife, Rosalie Vetere, in eternal rest.
George is survived by his daughter, Lisa Endres, who was the apple of his eye. He was a doting grandfather to Matthew, Timothy, Michelle, Daniel, and Joseph, showering them with love, wisdom, and fond memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. loving companion of Molly.
George was a beloved brother to Theodore Vetere, sharing a bond that withstood the test of time. Their camaraderie added another layer of richness to George's life, and his memory will be cherished by his surviving brother.
George was predeceased by his loving wife Rosalie Vetere in August of 2021 and his most cherished parents Frank Vetere and Virginia Vetere.
George was a dedicated patriot, George served his country honorably as an Army veteran from 1964 to 1966. His commitment to duty and service reflected not only in his military career but also in his three decades of service at American Airlines. His work ethic, dedication, and passion for his job left an indelible mark on the airline and its employees.
George's warm smile and gentle demeanor touched the lives of all who knew him. Whether recounting stories from his military days, sharing the joys of family life, or passionately discussing the New York Giants and New York 'Amazin Mets', George's presence was a source of comfort and inspiration.
His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the community he called home. Yet, the memories of George's love, laughter, unwavering spirit, and sportsmanship will endure, providing solace to those who mourn his loss.
A Visitation for George will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 125 Old Country Rd, Hicksville, New York 11801. An Entombment will occur Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Garden Mausoleums, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11739.
George was a loving father, proud grandfather of 5, cherished friend and was adored by all he crossed paths with, he will be sorely missed.
May George A. Vetere rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Rosalie, and may his legacy of love, dedication, years of service, and sportsmanship live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
