Thurman Lee Young

Thurman was born April 6, 1942 in Burke Co. to the late Oscar and Della Huffman Young.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step daughter, Lisa Holsclaw, and 11 brothers and sisters.

He was a member of Moriah Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a supervisor for Central Asphalt Paving

.

Surviving are his wife, Irene Payne Young of the home, daughters: Norma Jane Young of Hildebran and Mamie Lee Young of the home, sons: Terry Lee Young of Hickory, Ty Lee Young of the home and Tray Lee Young of Valdese, sisters: Annie Mae Fox and Hazel London both of Icard, step daughter, Penny McGinnis of Hudson and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, February 4, at 1:00 P. M. at Moriah Baptist Church with the Reverends Bill Ashe and Harold Grindstaff officiating.

Burial will follow in Henry River Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the church.
