Sterling Oliver Austin

Sterling was born April 19, 1938 in Alexander Co. to the late James Arthur and Lottie Ruth Hall Austin. He was also preceded in death by a sister Novella Jones and her husband Reverend Richard A. Jones, formerly of Texas.

Sterling was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church and was self employed at Style Craft Furniture and later at Enviromental Sorbent Products. Inc. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Rudisill Austin of the home; daughters, Valerie LaMarre and husband, Thomas of El Paso, TX and Laurie Rogers and husband, Jeff of Greenville, SC; sons, Scott Austin and wife, Sheila of Fletcher and Todd Austin of Bethlehem; grandsons; Chase Austin, Tyler Austin and Caleb Austin of Fletcher, Forrest Rogers of Greenville, SC and Zeb Austin of Bethlehem; granddaughters, Katelyn Rogers of Greenville, SC and Autumn Austin of Bethlehem: sister, Melany Blinson and husband, Rick of Clayton, NC; brother, Stuart Austin and wife, Michele of Apex: sister in law Dottie Rudisill of Newton: niece Brittany Austin of Apex, a nephew Samuel Blinson and niece Caroline Blinson, both of Clayton.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:45 until 2:45 P. M. at the church.

Services will be Sunday, July 29, at 3:00 P. M. at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mike Stone officiating.

Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park.
