She was born in Catawba County on May 29, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Daisy Gantt Lawter.
Sheila was well known as the owner/operator of Country Music Bar, Wheels, and later on Laredo’s. She was a strong, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who spent her life giving to others. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her longtime companion Larry Chapman of Hickory; her daughter Crystal Kelso and husband Russell of Hickory; grandson Dustin Kelso and wife Sierra and great granddaughter Ember Faith Kelso; grandson Charles Kelso; granddaughter Abagail Kelso, and many relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 3:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service, at this time they would like to encourage friends to share a picture or story about Sheila.
In lieu of flowers potted plants are requested.
