Ruby Lee Sizemore

Newton – Ruby Lee Steelman Sizemore, 78 of Newton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at her home.

Born on October 31, 1943 in Wilkes County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Elsie and Lola Baity Steelman.

Ruby was a devoted wife, a great mother, wonderful grandmother and great granny. She loved her family, her dog and the Lord. She was a long time member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Bobby Sizemore.

Those left to cherish her memory include, a daughter, Beverly Wright and husband Ralph, son, James Sizemore and wife Terri, and son, Mark Sizemore and wife Angie.

Survivors also include her grandchildren: Tabatha Martin and husband Tony, Aundrea Fleury and husband Scott, Tiffany Allison, Justin Sizemore and wife Michaela, Lauren Anthony and husband Parker. Great-grandchildren: Chloe Grace Martin, Kiersten Fleury, Hayden Fleury, Dylan Allison, Katie Allison, Hadley Jo Sizemore and Kynlee Anthony.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church of Maiden on September 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastors Lonnie Brown and Horace Minton officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association in Ruby’s name.
