Pastor Ronald Leasure passed away early Thursday morning with his wife and children by his side. Pastor Leasure was a long-time pastor in the Church of God, serving pastorates in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and North Carolina. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Those close to him knew him as a caring, strong, and patient man who genuinely loved others. To those who knew him best, he will be remembered for his hard work, faith, laughter, and love. His faith never wavered during his period of declining health and his commitment to Jesus remained firm. His greatest goal in life was to see Jesus Christ face to face.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 60 years, Ellen Treece Leasure; his caring and devoted children and in-laws: Kimberly Leasure Howell and Todd, Karen Leasure Turner and Jerry, Shannon Edward Leasure and Karen, Roxanne Leasure-Diaz and Eduardo, and Ronald Nathan Leasure and Jennifer. He was the adored grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were the joy of his life. Additionally, he is survived by a brother, Terry King and Mary, and three sisters: Brenda Heikkinen and Lee, Bonnie Leasure, and Sharon Buchannan.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 3:30 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Dr. Nathan Leasure officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
