Ms. Rita Ann Lutz

RITA ANN LEDFORD LUTZ CONOVER-Rita Ann Ledford Lutz, 67, of Conover passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Rita was born on June 9, 1948 in Catawba County to the late Elmer Grady Ledford, Sr. and Sarah Ellen Smith Ledford. Rita was a graduate of Fred T. Foard High School and later earned her Cosmetology license. She worked as a hair stylist for several years and then chose to stay home with her sons. She later went to work for Catawba Country Club, where she was employed for many years. Rita was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Ledford Parsons; brothers, Galen Ledford and James “Bud” Ledford. Survivors include her sons, George Brian Lutz and wife Robin of Hickory, Bentley “Pete” Harold Lutz and wife Tammy of Newton; grandchildren, Dalton Price Lutz, Dylan Brian Lutz, Zoe Kirsten Lutz, Tori Lynn Lutz; brothers, Harold Ledford, Grady Ledford; sisters, Charlotte Cook, Betty Jo Ledford, Eula Hefner, Maxine Dickinson, Brenda Sluder; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at Catawba Funeral Home with Bishop Michael Woods officiating.
