Born on March 30, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan, Richard was the son of the late Fred and Harriet Lindstrom. He was a member of the Salina Pioneer Lodge #79 F. & A.M. for 65 years. He also served in the United States Marine Corps.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter, Janet Norris.
Survivors include, daughter, Diane Chapman and husband, Lee; significant other for 50 years, Joyce Lester; step children, Herbert Lester Jr., Mary Sherman, Barbara Wagner, Debbie Lester; grandchildren, Shiane and Eli Chapman; step grandchildren, Kaylee Chapman, Robert Lester, Patricia Laney, Crystal Sherman and Michael Wagner; step great grandchildren; Andrew and Levi Laney and Eric Sherman.
A graveside service will be held on January 5, 2019 at Catawba Memorial Park at 2:00 pm with Military Honors.
