RICHARD “DICK” EUGENE JACKSON HICKORY – Richard Eugene Jackson, 84, of Hickory went home to be with his Lord on January 9, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born on November 15, 1931 in Memphis, TN he was the son of the late Rayburn and Lottie Craft Jackson. Dick served in the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne. He was a founding member of the Native American Intertribal Association in Millington, TN. He was a forty four year member of the Millington Masonic Lodge #671 and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. Dick enjoyed flying, fishing, and going to flea markets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Ray Autry Jackson of Hickory; children, Ric Jackson and wife Stephanie of Memphis, Jan Hayward and husband Mark of Hickory; granddaughter, Kelley Hayward; and great-grandson, Aiden Hayward. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 5 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Masonic Rites following. The family will receive friends after the service.
