Born in Catawba County on January 1, 1927, he was the son of the late Ralph Franklin and Flossie Rader Kiziah.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Poovey Kiziah; and 2 brothers Harley Kiziah and Carroll Kiziah.
Rader was a member of Amazing Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather, he was a caring and generous soul who spent his life giving to others. Rader was a United States Army Veteran, serving during WWII and Korean War. Rader was a lifelong member to American Legion Post 48, VFW, and Catawba Valley Tractor Association. He enjoyed farming all his life, and retired from the Postal Service.
He is survived by his daughters Sharyn Brady of Hickory, and Denise Powell (Larry) of Hickory; foster son, John Mills (Janet) of Monroe; grandchildren Derek Brady of Holly Springs, Devin Brady of Vail, CO, Michele Pendry (Albert), Heather Powell, and Ivory Powell all of Hickory; 6 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brother Curtis Kiziah of Hickory; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Christ United Lutheran Church, 4681 Grace Chapel Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630 formerly, St. Matthews Lutheran Church
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11:00am at Amazing Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Frank Waugh officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery.
