Peggy Mae (Crowder) Burke

HICKORY— Peggy Crowder Burke, 85, of Hickory passed away peacefully at Carolina Caring on Monday, January 14, 2019. Born in Catawba County on March 27, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Kendal and Bazelia Glasco Crowder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Gladys Mutch, Elizabeth Morrison, Geneva Peters and brothers Bob Crowder and George Crowder. Mrs. Burke attended Augustan Lutheran Church for many years. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John Henry Burke of the home; her daughter Lisa Gilliland and husband Robert of Granite Falls; grandson Nathan Gilliland; granddaughter Haley Gilliland; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 10:45 am to 11:45 am at Augustana Lutheran Church. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Augustana Lutheran Church with Reverend Gaven Mize officiating.
