Patricia was born on March 17, 1934 to Eva & Memphis (RIP) Prescott in Hickory, NC. She graduated from Hickory High School in 1952.
She met Bobby E. Rowe of Hickory on a blind date, and they married on March 22, 1952 and went on to have five children. Bob died in 1973 and she later met and married Nicky Eckard of Conover on June 30, 1988.
She worked in the textile industry until her father’s passing in 1973 when she took his place and entered into custodial service work at West Hickory Baptist Church and later at Highland Baptist Church until her retirement in 2004.
Her favorite activities were dancing and travel. She enjoyed seeing many parts of the USA with her husband Nick in his trucking profession. She also enjoyed motorcycling on their Gold Wing Honda bike. Later in life she enjoyed reading, cross stitch, embroidery, and FaceTiming with her great grandchildren. She loved to give them great big bear hugs and teach them to sing “Jesus Loves Me”.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Jenny Rowe in infancy, her parents, her former husband, her brother Jerry Prescott, her granddaughter, Constance Rowe in infancy, and grandson Brian Rowe.
She is survived by her husband Nicky Eckard; her brother Richard (Dick) Prescott and wife Jan of Hickory, NC; her sister Georgia Stillwell of Vale, NC; her son Bobby N. Rowe and wife Nancy of Monroe, NC and grandchildren; Matthew and wife Beth, Michael and wife Allison, and Robert. All living in the Monroe and Charlotte area. Christy Roe and husband Dan in Australia. Her daughter Angela Linder and husband Scott of Niceville, FL and grandchildren; Stacey Ochs and husband Jonathan of Niceville, FL and Sarah Wooten and her husband Jason of Murfreesboro, TN. Her son Patrick E. Rowe of Hickory, NC and grandsons; Patrick II of Maiden, NC and Steven of Hickory, NC; her daughter Tammy Meadows and granddaughter Kari Beth Meadows both of Newton, NC. She had 21 great grandchildren she adored: Toby, Peyton, Isabella, Lilly, Lucas, Abigail, Everett, Sumner, Owen, Ethan, Cassie, Corey, Nathaniel, Jonah, Jon Henry, Tyson, Shae, Wesley, Haylie, Wyatt, Mikey.
Services will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. She will be interred at Catawba Memorial Park after the service.
