Mary Agnes Bolick Stewart

She was born March 19, 1936, in Caldwell County to the late Hardy Lewis Bolick and Mattie Elvira Bolick.

She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and Clevenger Business College and retired from Lakeview Baptist Church in Hickory, NC, after 31 years of service. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and a member of the Annelle Pegg Sunday School Class. She enjoyed many volunteer projects and activities during retirement, including Meals on Wheels and playing piano at Brian Center and Pinecrest Retirement Community.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Jeneil Stewart. Survivors include sons Randy Stewart and wife Anne, of Chapel Hill; Barry Stewart and wife Jeanne, of Hickory; and Michael Stewart of Lenoir and fianceé Tammy Sebastian of Hickory; grandson, Brent Stewart of Hiddenite; granddaughters Lauren Stewart of Chapel Hill, Andrea Stewart of Morrisville, and Lisa Hollar and husband Josh, of Lenoir; great-grandsons, Ethan Stewart and Zachary Hollar; and a brother-in-law, Ned Houston of Hickory.

A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 with the Rev. Troy Grant and Rev. Jerry Hurley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

A private graveside service for family will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens prior to the service. Mary’s sons and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
