Margie Rae (Flowers) Powell

Born in Catawba County on August 16, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ray and Vertie Sigmon Flowers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Jane Flowers.

Margie was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, and she was a bookkeeper at First Presbyterian Church in Hickory.

She is survived by her husband Richard E. Powell of the home; her sons Tony Powell and wife Sandra of Morganton and Mike Powell and wife Tammy of Lake Toxaway, NC; granddaughters Amber Reece of Lake Toxaway, NC, and Cassie Powell of Morganton,; grandsons Jesse Powell and wife Brooke of Hildebran, Corey Powell of Morganton, and Chris Powell and wife Tabitha of Virginia Beach, VA; great granddaughter Karmin Powell of Virginia Beach, VA ; great grandson Declan Powell of Blacksburg, SC and her fur baby Moose.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 11:45 am to 12:45 am at St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA.

Funeral will be, Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA with Reverend Terri Landers officiating.

Burial will follow in church cemetery.
