Madelaine Burns Drum was born August 7th 1941 in Burke County. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 2nd 2023. Madelaine was known for her immense love for the Lord, her family and every life she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Hester Burns, son Scotty Drum and daughter Tammy Conway.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Gene Drum, son Lee Drum and his wife Teresa Drum of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Her sister, Shirley Whisnant of Drexel, NC. Grandchildren, Beth Vetetoe and husband Tim Vetetoe of Hickory, NC, Josh Conway of Hickory, NC, Hayley Deal and husband Matt Deal of Newton, NC, Caleb Drum and wife Emily Drum of Raleigh, NC. Great Grandchildren, Eric Vetetoe and wife Laura Vetetoe of Hickory, NC and Sarah Vetetoe of Hickory, NC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM - 2 PM at the funeral home.
