Lucy Pauline Morris

Hickory – Lucy Pauline Morris, 77 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton.

Born on July 29, 1944 in Catawba County, NC, Lucy was the daughter of the late Minzie Henry and Grace Christine Miller Burns Gilliland. Lucy loved her soap operas, as well as, watching Nascar on television. She loved her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Arnado Morris, Jr. and daughter, Lisa Hudson Edmonds

Lucy is survived by her granddaughter Sarah Hudson (Adrian) of Hickory, NC and grandson Joshua Buff (Lindsey) of Vale, NC, a first cousin Marie Tolbert of Hickory, NC and many nieces and nephews, along with her cat, Taz, who she adored.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Friendship UMC in Connelly Springs, NC on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mitchell Boughman officiating. Burial will follow at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society in Lucy’s name.
