Lowell "Bo" Anthony Moretz

HICKORY- Lowell "Bo" Anthony Moretz, 67, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Catawba Regional Hospice. Lowell was a devoted husband, father and papaw. Lowell was born March 17, 1947, in Watauga County, to the late Thomas Wilson and Mary Barnes Moretz. He was a member of Sardis Lutheran Church, a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and retired from CommScope. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Jane Propst Moretz; daughter, Angie Moretz Dellinger, of Hickory; granddaughters, Delaney O'Neil Dellinger, of Hickory and Davoney Brooke Dellinger, of Hickory; aunt, Pauline Colvard, of Charleston, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Teague and husband, Roger and Scottie Wyant and husband, Joe; fur baby, Jasper; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., at Sardis Lutheran Church. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Services will be Sunday, January 4, at 4:00 p.m., at Sardis Lutheran Church with the Reverend C. Pierson Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Darrell Jarrett, Bobby Holland, Lloyd Friday, Blake Bowers, Johnny Bailey and Rick Johnson. Honorary Pall Bearers will be the Disciples of Christ Sunday School Class.
