Keith Douglas Sigmon, age 66, of Conover, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and beloved dogs, Buffy and Blue. Born February 8, 1953 in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of the late Raymond Dacosta “Doc” Sigmon and Mayme Gladys Deal Sigmon.
Keith was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Conover, NC. He loved reading and studying his Bible, his favorite verse being John 5:39.
A born leader, Keith owned many businesses throughout his successful career. As owner-operator of Rainbow Pool & Spa, he designed and built many beautiful and award-winning pools receiving many accolades. Keith was also well-known as a talented musician and jazz enthusiast, as well as, fortunate to be able to create a final career from his passion. He taught music and guitar lessons and had recently opened a guitar repair business. His students meant so much to him, he considered them some of his closest friends.
Family and friends knew Keith as a hard-worker and detailed planner, who was determined, goal-oriented, and put 110% into anything he set out to do instilling this in his kids. Keith was so dedicated to his family and friends and would never turn his back on anyone in need. He could always be counted on for his wise advice and an honest and straight-forward opinion.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy K. Sigmon, and a brother, Dewel Sigmon.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Cheryl Childers Sigmon; daughter, Amy M. Sigmon of Hickory, NC; son, Toby D. Sigmon of Conover, NC; brothers, Wayne Sigmon of Phoenix, AZ, and Eddie Sigmon of Conover, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Sigmon, Adam Sigmon, Isaiah Mills, Sky Coyle, and Parker Smith; and great-granddaughter, Kaydison Crowe.
A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Keith’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Conover with Rev. Kevin Graudin and Lay Minister Eric Haus officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
