Kathy Barnett, 60, of Newton, NC, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born on August 5, 1957 in Newport, VA, she was the daughter of the late Billie Pitts and Helen Hartsoe Pitts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Pitts. Mrs. Barnett is survived by her husband of 25 years, Wichard Barnett; daughter, Ashley Connor and husband Jason; brother, Pete Pitts and wife Susan; sister, Margaret Burke and husband Pat; grandchildren, Damon Scott, TreSean, Justyn, LeBron and Leah Connor. A gathering of friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
