John thrived when working in the banking and finance industry. When not working, he enjoyed tv -watching gospel and country music groups, Fox news, and baseball games to cheer on America’s team--the Atlanta Braves.
Born on May 1, 1937, in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Willie Edmon and Helen McCorkle Faulk. He was recently preceded in death by his dear wife Barbara Young Faulk. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Martha Faulk and Doris Jean (Dottie) Smith, and his brothers Rev. Dr. Grady Faulk and David Faulk.
Surviving him are his brother, Ralph Faulk, his son Russell Faulk, his daughter Kelly Phillips (husband-Joey), and stepdaughter Tracey Henson (husband-Chuck).
Graciously and lovingly supporting both Barbara and John were their faithful caregivers Pat, Mary, and Tammie. These ladies are the best and so very appreciated!
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 11:00 am to 11:45 AM at Hickory Funeral Home, and the celebration of life will follow at 12:00 pm in the chapel with Reverend Joey Phillips officiating. Afterwards, the burial will be at St. Stephens Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his memory be sent to Goodview Baptist Church, 1057 Grace Court, Goodview, VA 24095. John faithfully watched the live stream services every Sunday morning. Online condolences may be left at www.hickoryfh.com
