Imogene K. Hefner

She was born on May 15, 1931 to the late E.E. Kanupp and Clara Killian Kanupp in Catawba County. Imogene was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. She dedicated many years, before retirement working as the Cafeteria Manager for H.M. Arndt Middle School. Imogene was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Hefner; daughter, Beth Bedington; son, Scott Hefner; sister, Ruth Burrus; nephew, Andy Burrus; and great niece, Abigail Kanupp.

Survivors include her brother, Paul Kanupp and wife Linda of Dallas; son-in-law, Scott Bedington and wife Lisa of Taylorsville; nieces, Kim Lail of Hickory, Lisa Drum of Hickory, Amy Rudisill of Hickory; nephews, Matt Kanupp and wife Mendy of Dallas, Jeff Kanupp and wife Clara of Conover; and a number of other relatives.

The family would like to thank Stephanie, Trena, and Magalene for the wonderful care and love they provided for Imogene.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Rev. Scott Bollinger will be officiating.
