Elsie Faye Lockhart

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her sister Doris and two brothers, Elwood and Raymond.

Elsie grew up in State Road, N.C. where in her senior year of high school she served as valedictorian at Mountain Park. After high school, she moved to Baltimore, Md. where she met and in 1952 married Jack Lockhart. In 1956, they moved to Hickory, N.C. Together they opened Lockhart Real Estate and Insurance Agency which they operated for 25 years. In her free time, Elsie enjoyed going to the beach, shopping antique shops and yard sales, spending time with her beloved westie Bonny and visiting her kids and grandkids.

Elsie is survived by two daughters, Laura Lockhart of Charlotte, N.C., Jackie Lockhart and husband Geitner Simmons of Lincoln, Nebraska; son Kenny Lockhart of Hickory, N.C.; two grandchildren, Harry Simmons of Omaha, Nebraska and Lucy Simmons of Portland, Oregon and many nieces and nephews.
