HICKORY – Elaine Deaton Hallman, 76 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2023.
Elaine was born on September 24, 1946 in Catawba County to the late George and Gladys Johnson Deaton. She was a member of West Hickory Baptist Church, where she was very active in her Sunday School class and visitation. Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles, and was known for sending cards to bring others joy. She was retired after almost 40 years from Maple Springs Laundry where she served as their office manager. Currently she was employed at Piggly Wiggly as a part time cashier.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Gladys Deaton.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Steve (Tina) Hallman and Wesley (Amy) Hallman of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Randy (Katie) Hallman, AJ Hallman, Amanda Hallman and Emma Hallman; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Charlotte Hallman.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Frady officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM – 2 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Hickory Baptist Church, 40 12th St. NW, Hickory NC 28601.
